For older generation of analog TVs / monitors with component or VGA interface to adopt digital HDMI A/V signals. No need for the TV to be HDCP compliant. The Converter uses a single HDMI source?accessing to single VGA + L/R audio sink or single Component YPbPr + L/R audio sink. The Converter allows one HDMI device to be converted easily to one VGA or one YPbPr Component Video monitor or projector. Power adapter is included with the unit. Works well with video sources, such as DVD/cable/satellite boxes and HD media player. But using computer HDMI output as video source, results may vary, due to the significant variations in different video cards and user experience / expertise, in particular, when using TV as an extended display, instead of a clone display, it may or may not work out. For in component video mode, the picture can shift off center to the left. This product does NOT support AppleTV (Video is fine, but no audio). The SPDIF optical audio output doesn't work properly, don't count on it.
